When Liz’s good friend Alex Johnson decided to run for City Council, she was there every step of the way to support his campaign—and later, his successful Mayoral run. Liz worked closely with now Mayor Johnson to develop clear, actionable housing strategies, engaging local developers and builders to find real solutions to Albany’s housing challenges at the time.

Liz and Bre's commitment to civic engagement didn’t stop there. In 2022, she also supported John Selker’s campaign for Oregon’s 4th Congressional District, stepping up when Peter DeFazio’s seat became open. Her dedication to strengthening local and regional leadership has been a consistent theme in her work.
Currently, Liz is cheering on Breanna, who is working on the Melissa Bird Congressional race, continuing her passion for empowering strong voices in government. Over the years, Liz has also supported many women running for City Councils across Oregon, helping to build a more inclusive and representative political landscape.
Today, we celebrate Mayor Johnson’s incredible achievement: winning the 2025 Mayor’s Leadership Award in the Large City Category—a testament to his vision and the collaborative efforts that helped shape Albany’s future. Change begins with informed action and sustained commitment.
