About Liz

Liz comes to the team with decades of housing industry experience as well as political. She’s been a real estate agent, loan officer, title and escrow officer, and more enabling her to truly understand the ins and outs of housing. Liz has extensive experience in community networking, relationship building, and civic engagement around top public policy issues including housing equity and affordability. She has deep experience in all phases of real property transactions—from negotiation and contracts to entitlement, permitting, and financing.

She has managed several political campaigns in the Mid-Willamette Valley and understands the dynamics and interpersonal relationships that make projects happen. A strong believer in participative democracy, Liz has managed several campaigns for federal and local elected officials. She has actively campaigned as a county commission candidate and served on the Benton County Planning Commission and several boards and committees.

Liz knows personally the struggles many face with housing, homelessness, and the challenge of working just to stay afloat. Her advocacy is rooted in lived experience—driven by a desire to create lasting change for her family, friends, and community. Her work comes from a place of resilience, empathy, and a commitment to ensuring everyone has a fair chance to thrive.

Liz has lived experience working through the myriad of housing challenges, with some notable chapters illuminating what happens when inaction remains the norm. Her experience extends to managing the emergency housing measures taken by companies to alleviate the pains of low inventory and high housing costs-- something we are familiar with today. The solutions became what are now known as “man camps” that represented quick and affordable housing for the workforce, that ultimately resulted in poor conditions, unsafe environments, and missed opportunities for the communities around them. This lived experience reinforced her beliefs that housing action needs to happen now and be creative as costs rise and community needs rise right along with them.

About Bre

Bre comes from many years working for the United States Senate, having managed a robust policy portfolio for one of the most senior Senators in the United States. She comes to Tenth Goal with a wealth of knowledge of the federal, state and local government, helping these projects get the political traction they need to move forward.

While on Capitol Hill, Bre worked on a policy portfolio that included health care, labor, and education policy. Through the US Senate Finance Committee, she worked to root out inequities and disparities baked into our federal policy within the Finance Committee’s jurisdiction. Having worked on a wide breadth of policy, Bre is able to navigate the legislative process to deliver collaborative results that support people, communities, and the future.

A strong community organizer, Bre has worked to organize congressional staffers to advocate for better pay and working conditions on Capitol Hill. She has successfully negotiated with congressional leaders like Senator Mitch McConnell and Senator Chuck Schumer for pay increases for Senate staffers. An inaugural leadership committee member of the Congressional Progressive Staff Association, Bre worked to support congressional staffers in their critically important roles crafting policy for the entire nation.

Here in Oregon, Bre worked on the ground in her community to organize events to support Oregonians so we can have stronger and more tightly-knit communities. Having lived through homelessness, the issue of housing is paramount for her. Bre spends her free time volunteering and is active in Corvallis supporting the houseless community through street outreach and the Corvallis Daytime Drop-in Center. She also volunteers to support tenants rights, working to pass resolutions to protect renters in an increasingly high-cost world. Bre is currently the Campaign Manager for Melissa Bird for Congress.

Bre also is a community reporter for the local independent radio station in Corvallis, Oregon covering topics from the local level all the way to national news. In her reporting, she educates folks on the political process in addition to staying on top of current issues. An educated community is a thriving community, and Bre believes the political process and information about the world around us should not be gate-kept. Communities should be armed with information to advocate for themselves.
