Wetlands work in Action!

There are so many facets to the housing conversation that we often overlook critical topics—such as how wetlands impact the availability of buildable land and the costs associated with developing areas that contain wetlands. There is no simple, one-size-fits-all solution.
That’s why Nichols & Irish partnered with state legislatures to bring practical, real-world solutions back to the table. Our goal is twofold: to improve wetlands and conservation land while also making better use of land within existing Urban Growth Boundaries (UGBs). By doing so, we can build housing without expanding UGBs and avoid the workarounds and sprawl that occur when development simply skirts wetlands instead of restoring them in a meaningful way.
